13 Colonies Organizer
Hey! Happy Homecoming! In case you missed today, here is the graphic organizer that you need to have done by Tuesday. Be sure that once you open it, you click 'File' and then 'Make a Copy', replacing 'Copy of' with your last name. You will not be able to edit or type in the link I have provided.
Some reminders...your African Enslavement essays are due Monday, you will need your textbooks Wednesday and Thursday of next week and we will have a test the following Tuesday.
Have a great weekend and let me know if you need anything! I will see you at tonight's game!

ChromeBooks
ChromeBooks have officially been rolled out in all traditional US History classes. You can now work from home, the bus, McDonald's - virtually anywhere - and get your work turned in. Now, you can keep up with your history class even when life happens! I am bringing the class to YOU!
If you were not here the day that ChromeBooks were rolled out, never fear. All the information that you need to get started is RIGHT HERE! You can set up your Evernote and Canvas accounts from the comfort of anywhere you choose.
Parents!!! If you are interested in following along with your student, please let me know and I can "attach" you to your student's account. You will be able to see what work is assigned, when it is due, what your student has or has not turned in! No more excuses or forgotten assignments! Just leave me a note here and let me know your student's name and the email you would like it attached to!
Now, the fine print...
If you are chronically absent from school, I will reassign your ChromeBook. I only have 32 tablets and my classes are larger than that. There are no excuses. You need to be here to succeed! If there are serious circumstances that I need to know about, please let me know. I am not a mind reader.
Your African Enslavement essays are due Monday! Put it off no longer!

US History - Slavery in the Colonies, Do Nows and More!
HEY! Look I finally got myself on to my blog. I promise, I will make this transition go much smoother after this weekend!
First of all, HERE is the handout for your essay. If you recall, this will give you the break down of expectations for the essay and how it will be scored. Since we are doing most of this essay as a class, I will not accept this as a literacy portfolio piece. However, it will count as a graded assessment. Please be aware of that. On Monday, we will roll out the ChromeBooks and begin typing your rough copies. This will make it easier to edit as we make our way through the writing process. The work we have done in class thus far can be found here -> Hour 2, Hour 3 and Hour 5.
Do Nows - Your first Do Now turn in will be Tuesday, as I know most of you will forget over the weekend. You will need access to your book if you plan to work from home. Please plan accordingly.
Have a good weekend and be safe! See you guys Monday!

US History - WELCOME BACK!
Howdy and welcome to BVHS US History for the 2015/2016 school year! I hope you are as excited as I am to hit the ground running. I mean, really, who wouldn't be knowing that it is US HISTORY! Contain your excitement!!
We're going to start the year off discussing how to think, read, speak and listen, like a historian. We are also going to take a look at how BIAS plays a role in how we remember history.
But, if you are dying to jump into the content and find out where the First Americans came from and how they influenced the world we now live in, please, don't let me hold you back. Click here to get a head start!

Industrial Revolution Screenshots.
Just to hold you over until I can get these up on Canvas. I can't get the PDF to upload to blogger, but I did add the scanned images to Canvas. You can access them there.
